Elektronika 7-21 (Электроника 7-21) alarm clock was produced in USSR in late 1980's.
It was built with big flat VFD display with 4 digits, day of the week indicators and other pictograms.
It is controlled by a soviet integrated circuit KR1016VI1 (КР1016ВИ1) and clocked by
32768 Hz crystal. I measured the power consumption to be cca 3W.
The clock has a little peculiar control panel - with 18 buttons. There are 10 number buttons (0-9) and 8 other buttons.
When I was repairing this (completely dead) clock, I found out that the fault wasn't an electrolytic capacitor or IC, as expected, but
the crystal. After replacing the 32768 Hz crystal (modern crystal can be used) the clock works.
